Tactic #1 – Sell Advertising
This is definitely one of the most common and one of the simplest ways to monetize a website. With that being said I am not a fan of ad revenue. Google ad words does not pay fair rates. Also, to get real advertising deals you need to have a lot of traffic. If you already have lot’s of traffic there are better ways to monetize a website.
Tactic #2 – Sell Products
You can sell physical products (e-commerce) or digital products (d-commerce). E-commerce requires you trading a physical product such as a tee shirt in exchange for money. A digital product could be selling an e-book, a webinar or some kind of online software. Both options are great business models.

Tactic #3 – Sell a Service
A website does not necessarily have to sell a product. A site can be a means of selling a service. The website you are on right now is a marketing tool to sell my online coaching services. You could use a website to sell real estate services or accounting services. Whatever the case may be, a website is always a great marketing tool.
Tactic #4 – Sell Leads and Data
This tactic can get complicated but it is a great way to monetize a website. This tactic definitely requires some in depth programming knowledge and a good understanding of search engine optimization but if it’s done right, a lead generation website can be a steady flow of amazing income.
