Your Problem Is That You’re Not Dialed In
In The Machine Method community, I talk one on one with a lot of students. One of the most common complaints I hear is that people struggle to get started and stay focused.
I feel that too. The last month has not been my best. I’ve hardly worked out in 3 weeks and I don’t feel great in my body right now. That slump reminded me why I rely on this system in the first place.
The best productivity hack in the world is to finish every day by writing your power list.
Here’s how it works:
Each night, write down 5 tasks you must accomplish tomorrow
In the morning, get your coffee and journal under your list with a simple plan of attack
Then do that every day, without exception
Follow this and you’ll start to see your life and business come together.
If You Don’t Write It Down, It Means You’re Not Serious About It
This is where most people fail.
They wake up without a plan, and when you don’t have a plan, what do you do? You scroll, you click, you drift from task to task searching for a hit of inspiration.
Discipline is not about mental toughness. Discipline is about process. A process removes the need for willpower.
My process is simple. Each night I do a quick inventory in my journal. I look at where I’ve been selfish or self seeking, where I did well, and where I could improve. Then I write my power list for the next day.
When I wake up, there are no decisions left to make. All I need to do is execute. When the list is complete, I’m free to do whatever I want. But I must finish the list before I retire.
Follow this process and you’ll continue to grow 1% better each day. Over time, the results will be extraordinary.
