Musing And Reflections On My Last Day In Plymouth Mass
Lot's to say, and not sure how to say it.
Today is my last day in Massachusetts.
I fly to Fort Lauderdale this afternoon for business, and I head back to Denver on Saturday.
I’m very excited to get home. However, Jules and the squad won’t join me in Denver until the 28 because she’s staying in Bridgewater with her dad to handle more family business.
It’s been a great trip. Here’s a quick recap.
The Beach Is Good For The Soul
We rented a beach house on purpose. We expected some stress while we were here, and we wanted our own space and access to the ocean.
I didn’t grow up by the ocean. When I moved to Florida, I fell in love with it. Jules would tell me childhood stories about nighttime bonfires, digging for clams, and eating seafood. I would tell her about skateboarding and cheesesteaks. :)
We went to the beach just about every morning. It’s been a beautiful time. I’ll miss this place.
I’m Alive
The kiddos do weird things to my emotions.
Yesterday, I watched them rolling around on the floor, laughing with each other, and I was hit with a wave.
The Little Dude is over 4 years old. These stages fly by so quickly. I try my best to pay attention and hold onto the moments, but they’re here and gone before you know it.
It made me think about life, how beautiful it is, and also how short it is. One day, my kids will live on without me, and I’ll be dead, back to the everythingness and nothingness where we all return.
That never used to bother me, but it’s different now with the kiddos. I’m doing my best to appreciate every single moment.
This video popped up on my YouTube yesterday and reinforced the feeling.
Getting Back To Routine
I thrive in routine. I always have. I think one of the reasons I’ve been able to execute process-oriented improvements in my businesses is because I naturally think in terms of process.
If I’m really being honest, I’m this way because of sports.
As much as I’ve embraced the opportunity to be spontaneous while I’ve been here, I’m looking forward to getting back into my routine.
Back In The Gym: Jules and I took time away from the gym and started doing kettlebells so we could spend more time with the kiddos in the morning instead of rushing them out the door. It’s been cool, but the reality is I like lifting heavy weights, and I’m excited to get back to my daily gym routine.
Recording My Videos: I had to stop recording YouTube videos and lessons for The Launchpad while I’ve been here. I’m really looking forward to getting back to it, since video is my biggest priority now for growing my personal brand.
Building My Sales Team: Agency Clarity needs more structure in the sales process. Emma is coming on board to build it, and together we’re going to create another sales machine. I can’t wait. 📈📈📈
Afternoon Walks: In the spring and summer, I go for barefoot walks in the field next to the lake at my house. It’s my time in the afternoon to get grounded, get some sun, listen to a book or podcast, and work on my tan. I can’t wait to get my walks back.
Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu: I haven’t punched or kicked a single person since I’ve been here, and that’s a problem. I can’t wait to get back to training with my team and bringing Julian to jiu jitsu class every week. It’s been so fun to watch him learn.
My Diet: I don’t count calories, especially while on vacation. I probably ate 25 chocolate chip cookies while I’ve been here. But getting home means I get to have my own food, and eat the same thing at the same time every day the way I like it.
People make a big deal about things. You want to lose weight or get back in the gym or spend more time with friends. I’ve never seen those things as steps that need to be taken. I just implement what I want into my routine. That way, I don’t have to think about it and there’s no pressure.
I love the process.
More To Come
I realize I’ve been cryptic about what we’re doing here. The truth is, it’s not my place to tell the story of what’s been going on, and maybe soon I will.
But I’m grateful so many of you have been replying to my emails, encouraging my work, and helping me grow.
I’ve gained a ton of email subscribers over the last two weeks. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a writer, and every day when I see that thousands of people open my emails each morning, I sit back and realize that I am a writer.
It’s so cool.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.
