How To Get Rich Slowly
This is the only way to do it
I don’t believe in “big wins.”
My success in life has happened slowly through compounding. I believe the big wins you are searching for are really just the result of daily progress. No one gets rich overnight, and those who do usually end up losing their money.
Today, I will show you how to get rich slowly, and I will explain why that is actually the better way to go.
LFG. 🔥
Momentum Is The Entire Point
The hardest part of building a business isn’t getting started. It’s continuing when things are not working.
Twitter bros and podcast hosts love to throw around trite advice like “just get started.” It is an easy trope to repeat, but it is actually bad advice. Getting started, especially when you are excited, is easy.
The hard part comes when you are a year or two in, working on your business every day, and you just cannot seem to break through.
Seth Godin calls this The Dip. It is a critical point in your journey because it separates the real entrepreneurs from the people who simply like the idea of being an entrepreneur. Building a business is hard, and it is supposed to be hard.
In the beginning, your objective shouldn’t be to succeed. It should simply be to generate momentum. All that matters is building confidence and creating a system you can replicate.
The early stages are full of friction. You are learning, making mistakes, and discovering what does not work. Friction is the enemy of momentum. But over time, the rough block of clay that represents your business rounds out into a ball. Once it starts rolling, generating success becomes easier every single day.
Success Creates Success: What This Looks Like In Practice
I am going to give you behind the scenes access to my media company, TimStodz Media. I want you to see that I follow my own advice, and this is exactly how I have built every asset in my portfolio.
First, some context.
Last year, I created my first membership product attached to my personal brand called The Machine Method. I worked tirelessly on it, and after pushing through early 2025, I finally generated real momentum.
Over 12 months, I brought in an extra $180,000. I had broken through The Dip and created real traction across my sales, products, and membership.
Eventually, the model became too complex to manage alongside my other assets, so I decided to pivot. I wasn’t able to manage a big community anymore.
However, I still wanted a way to monetize TimStodz.com (the site you are reading now). That is why I chose to move everything to Substack and make my offer simple, affordable, and easy to operate.
The goal for TimStodz Academy is to generate $10,000 a month in profit without requiring more effort than my current baseline.
I publish my free written newsletter every Friday (which I monetize through sponsorships) and I publish my paid Academy lesson every Friday. I want this to be a fun way to grow my personal brand while earning great side income.
At first, restarting was painful. I had to build back up from zero. I kept publishing even when it felt like no one cared. I stayed consistent and promoted the academy in a way that delivered obvious value to my readers.
Now, I am finally hitting the inflection point.
I sold my first sponsorship this week, which caused a noticeable jump in revenue.
More importantly, consistency is growing my email list and customer base. As more people buy, others get curious and want in. My recurring revenue has been creeping up and is starting to take off.
Look, I am human just like everyone else. Most people might look at my chart and say, “Yeah, but you are still only at $2,200 in monthly recurring revenue. That is not full time income yet.”
But that misses the point entirely.
Once momentum builds, compounding kicks in. Now I can reinvest with better resources. Now I have options. I can:
Increase my prices, which scales growth faster
Put money toward ads to grow my email list, which drives new sales and increases sponsorship value
Do nothing and keep growing at my current rate to store cash in the bank
It is not 1+1=2. Compounding creates a scenario where the sum of the parts is far greater than the whole.
The Emotional Benefit Of Small Wins
Entrepreneurship is an emotional game. Great entrepreneurs possess emotional fortitude, meaning they can manage their mindset when things feel hopeless or stagnant.
I consider myself emotionally stable, but I would never want to run a business if I was not enjoying the process.
You must enjoy what you are doing. If you do not enjoy it, you will quit. We are emotional creatures. Why would anyone spend their finite time on earth doing something they hate without a reward?
Stacking small wins is more than a practical path to success. It is an emotional tool that keeps you excited to wake up every morning and do it again.
In Conclusion: Embrace The Process
Wake up, work on your business every day, and do your best not to obsess over the immediate outcome.
The process determines the result. It is about doing the work without needing instant gratification. It is about staying in the game so long that failing becomes statistically improbable.
Small wins turn into big wins. Daily habits generate long term success. The little things become the big things.
This mindset has built everything I have today, and I know it will work for you too.
Love you guys. Talk to you next week.
