Four Lessons I Wish I Learned Sooner
Morning musings
The Sweet Girl woke me up at 3:30. After I got her back to bed, I haven’t been able to go back to sleep.
I’ve been sitting in my living room drinking coffee, reflecting on some lessons I’ve learned.
This morning, I’d like to share them with you.
LFG. 🔥
You Achieve More By Doing Less
It’s a strange thing in life, where as you get older, you become more patient. You would think it would be the opposite since when you’re younger, you have all the time in the world.
I’ve spent my life feeling restless. Time always felt like it was running out, and it created a constant pressure to get everything done right away.
Right now, I’m doing less than ever. I spend nearly all my time on one account inside Quantum, leaving space for meetings, afternoon walks, and good meals.
If there’s one lesson I could teach my younger self, it would be this. The less you do, the more you achieve.
At the same time, I’m grateful for the experiences that taught me this lesson.
Team Building Is The Ultimate Skill
You can’t do it all yourself. This idea of a solopreneur is a lie.
You can’t be great without the greatness of others.
When I was in Thailand, I read Who Not How by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. It’s one of the most important books I’ve ever read. It taught me that the best way to solve almost any problem is to find someone who already knows how to solve it.
These days, young entrepreneurs think of leverage as followers and technology. But the ultimate leverage is still other people. Because the knowledge in our brains is what solves problems. Everything else is just a tool.
My job is to build great teams, incentivize them properly, and create systems and procedures that allow them to communicate and operate with efficiency.
Good Character Is The Foundation
I’m reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for the sixth time.
My favorite part is the first chapter, Inside Out. Covey explains that effective people live by a character ethos, not a personality ethos. After WW2, when media exploded, personality and charisma became major indicators of how well someone would be received.
Most of us try to improve our personalities without improving our character.
But character is the hidden foundation your life is built on.
If you lie, bully, take shortcuts, or ignore the importance of character, eventually the house of cards falls.
There’s a great quote from Jordan Peterson.
“No one ever gets away with anything.”
Every action has a tradeoff. Even if a secret is never discovered, it weighs you down. It eats at you. It holds you in place like an anchor.
Unless you commit to improving your character, everything else is fleeting and ultimately a waste of time.
It’s Always Worth It To Invest In Yourself
I’m a financially conservative person. I don’t buy clothes, watches, or much else. But I’ve never shortchanged myself when it comes to personal growth.
I spend a lot on:
organic food
my health and fitness (Muay Thai gyms, trainers, my ice bath)
books, courses, and coaching
Almost every day I think I’m spending too much. I recently spent $20,000 on a coaching program to help me build a system for appointment setting through social media. I’ve never done that before. All my sales have come through email, cold calling, and networking.
But I knew if I wanted The Launchpad to be successful, I had to figure it out.
I’ve already doubled my investment. Best of all, I’ve learned a skill I can teach others.
When people get tight on money, the first thing they cancel is their gym membership. I’ve always found that funny, since no one ever cancels Netflix.
Spend money on yourself. It’s the best return you’ll ever get.
Lastly, Thanks For Reading
I’ve been writing this newsletter for years. I’m hitting the point where growth is taking off.
I’m still shocked that so many people read these morning essays, or newsletters, or whatever this is.
I really appreciate it. My morning coffee and writing time help me keep my mind clear and focused.
It means a lot to me. More than you know.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.

Good morning Tim. Let me. Be the first to say (literally ☺️) that I really appreciate your transparency in this post today.
In all transparency; I woke up a little ‘funky’ today. My mind was filled with a lot of things that were going (if I let it) taking me down some unnecessary rabbit holes that would not make my day be the best that it could be.
Your post helped correct that for me. Thanks!
Having said that; YES, having and keeping a “Good Character” is essential to blessings and happiness in life. I try to live by this model. Heck, I literally say this in conversations at least two or three times a week.
Anyway, to keep from being Chatty Charlie……..
Thank You for this post today. It has made my day!😊
Appreciate You!!🫡
