Yesterday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Passed a Law Legalizing the Use of Stem Cells
This law, effective July 1, 2025, permits licensed physicians to administer stem cell treatments not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for specific medical conditions, including orthopedics, wound care, and pain management.

Key Provisions of SB 1768
Ethical Sourcing: The law mandates that stem cells used in therapies must be ethically sourced, explicitly prohibiting the use of cells derived from aborted fetuses. Approved sources include adult stem cells and umbilical cord blood.
Facility Standards: Stem cells must be obtained from facilities that are registered with the FDA and accredited by recognized organizations such as the National Marrow Donor Program, the World Marrow Donor Association, the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies, or the American Association of Tissue Banks.

Why This Is Such A Big Deal
For the last 10 years (or more), if people in the United States wanted to get stem cell treatments, they had to fly overseas. Most of the places that would legally administer stem cells were in South America or Europe.
I tried to get involved in this business years ago with a mentor of mine. We bought a domain and created a directory with the purpose of selling leads. It was a failure.
The biggest problem was that no one could buy the leads because regenerative medicine clinics in the United States were not actually using stem cells. They were injecting people with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC).
They were not using cultured stem cells.
I won’t bore you with the science, but it’s awesome. If you’re the type of person who would read a peer-reviewed scientific journal, here’s a good place to start.
Now, at least in the state of Florida, regenerative medicine clinics can fully administer cultured stem cells and inject them directly into the body.
The Opportunity
This is obvious.
Respectfully, clinicians are terrible marketers. One of the main reasons why I’ve stayed in the healthcare space for so long is because the doctors and clinics who run these facilities are just awful at marketing themselves. They’re academics, and they see the world through a certain lens.
Because of this, there will be a huge demand for lead generation services for these specialized stem cell clinics.
The competition for these services will heat up quickly, and many of these clinics will need help right from the very beginning.
If you’re as excited about this as I am, here’s what you should do.
Start a local SEO and GMB agency that specializes in regenerative medicine: Right now, Florida is the only state that has legalized the use of non-FDA approved stem cells, but this is just the beginning. Other states will follow, and eventually, these regenerative services will become FDA approved.
Get involved in the media: If I weren’t already so deep in other projects, I would absolutely start a weekly newsletter all about stem cells and other regenerative medicines. There are subsequent industries to stem cells, such as hair restoration, skin treatment, longevity, and facial injections. The demographics for these services are almost always wealthy people, so even with a small following, you could easily create significant revenues from your audience.
Start going to conferences: One of my biggest regrets in business is that I didn’t attend the behavioral healthcare conferences when I first started Stodzy. I had an ego and thought I was above wearing nice shoes and asking people about what they do. I now realize how huge of a mistake that was.
