I recorded an amazing podcast today with my friend Paul Churchill. In the conversation, we spoke about connection. About how our devises that seemingly “connect us”, actually isolate us.
I love the internet. I make my living off the internet. I embrace it because we live in a digital world. But I often times wonder if my iPhone takes from me more than it gives.
I’m toying around with ways that I can attach my “online brand” with human interaction. I love to write. I love that the internet puts me in people’s inboxes every morning. I love how it feels to know that hundreds of people look forward to my morning blog.
But I think there is more I can give. I want to give back in the way that matters most, by truly building connection with other people. I want to look all of you in the eye and give you a hug and sit down and have a meal with you. I want to learn about your families. I want to watch your body language and see how you smile when you talk about your kids.
That’s the connection we really crave.
That’s what we need more than anything.
