Jules and I took some time this weekend for a much needed hike. Currently, I am sitting in the kitchen of an airbnb in central Tennessee.
This autumn has been incredibly beautiful. I’ve lived in South Florida for the past eight years so my memory could be screwed, but I feel like this is one of the most beautiful autumns I can remember. We moved to Tennessee at the perfect time.
We had a wonderful hike. I left my phone in the car. I tried not to think of work or of expectations. I tried to soak in the cool autumn air and enjoy the view.
Check out the pictures below.
This was from one of the lookout points. I’ve recently learned that Tennessee is known for all of it’s waterfalls. Much of Tennessee is made of sharp jagged cliffs of limestone. This creates all the waterfalls. Beautiful.
This was taken at the beginning of the hike. We didn’t know how, but we knew we had to find this cliff so we could stand on the edge of it. That was our mission.
This is the standard “the picture doesn’t do it justice” picture. This was all the way at the basin of Fall Creek. The entire basis was a pool that was colored bright red. If I were able to show you a 365* shot, you would see these cliffs all around you. It made you feel small.
After checking out the basin and after getting lost a few times, we finally found our way to the edge of the cliff we were looking for. We had Alice with us and she was surprisingly afraid of the ledge, but I was able to get all the way out there and look over the cliff. It was remarkable.
I have a picture of the view from over the cliff, but I’m keeping that one to myself because the picture makes it feel less remarkable than it really was.
So that’s our hike. It was great.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
