Some lessons …
It’s not linear like I expected it to be. It doesn’t go from beginning to end. It’s all over the place.
100 words a day adds up much quicker than you think. 500 words a day adds up even quicker.
What I thought I was writing about isn’t actually what I am writing about.
The act of daily writing does two things.
It gets the book written (which is the hardest part)
It keeps the concept fresh in my mind, which allows me to keep the story morphing in the way it’s meant to.
It’s not as stressful as I made it up in my mind.
With that said, I decided to switch things up a little bit. As much as I am enjoying writing the book in public, it’s a bit awkward because so much of the process is going back to concepts I have already written and either adding to them, tweaking them, or removing from them.
Every day, I must write and publish. That is my rule. But I can do that a bit more subtly.
For that reason, I am making all the content in Google drive public. So as I write new words, I’ll end each daily email with a short update and a link to the content I worked on.

Man you nailed it. I’m writing my first book as we speak. The mind-fuck of resistance is something I never encountered in my business career. Thanks for the illumination.
