I Think I'll Start Making More Videos
Jules in on a spiritual retreat.
She is attending the retreat with a group of people who I got sober with, most of them still live in S. Florida.
Last night, Jules was telling me about the people and the conversations she had. One of the guys on the retreat (I think his name is Mike) knew who I was. Jules told me that Mike said …
“I don’t know Tim, but I feel like I know him. I used to watch all his whiteboard Friday videos.”
That instantly brought me back to a different time. Years ago, when Jules and I still lived in Florida, I used to record these weekly marketing videos, where I would write bullet points on a white board and then go through them, almost like I was teaching a short lecture on marketing.
I used to love doing the videos. To my surprise, they started gaining a lot of traction. Granted, I think most of the people who would watch them were friends from the community I built in Florida, but they did well none the less.
As much as I love to write, there is something about video that makes you feel like you’re getting to know the person.
For instance, I feel like I know Peter Zeihan. I watch his videos every day.
I’m going to try it. I’m not going to take it too seriously.
First video drops tomorrow. :)
P.S. - I already do weekly videos on my YouTube channel. But these videos are more structured with editing. The videos I am going to make will be more vlog / talking head style.
I hope you’ll follow along.
