One of the reasons I write is to get my thoughts out of my head and onto paper. Writing itself is the value for me. It has always been a trusted friend that helps me through difficult times.
The last 10 months have been a whirlwind. I’ve written about the confusion I’ve felt as I moved on from my last company. Recently, a lot of times when I hit publish, I’m worried that you all must think I’m crazy, because my thoughts have been so all over the place.
After all the back and forth, the ideas, the starting and stopping, and the uncertainty, I’ve finally reached a point where I know exactly what business I am going to create next.
Let’s. Fucking. Go. 🔥
Another Powerful Breathwork Session
Last week, Juliana held an in-person breathwork event in Denver. It was an amazing experience. This session was different for me. Usually, the entire session feels like a journey, but this time, I found the answers I was looking for right away. The rest of the session was smooth sailing.
It started with a meditation. Juliana asked us to imagine standing next to a river, discovering what we wanted to let go of, and then dropping it into the water.
Usually, what appears in my mind is something negative—a rock, a hot coal, something I literally want to let go of.
This time, it was a horse.
Instantly, a horse appeared in my imagination. I knew right away that he was asking for the freedom to run. He wanted me to release him, so she could run free and gallop and sprint.
This hit deep for a lot of reasons, but mostly because of my ancestors. My ancestors were Scottish horse breeders. My last name literally translates to "grower of horses." (Stod = stud horse. Darter = breeder.)
In addition, before my grandfather died, the last thing he said to me was, “In a perfect world, Alex would be swimming in the lake, and you and I would be riding horses.”
Horses have always lived deep inside me. I feel a strong connection to them. They’ve always been a spirit animal for me.
After that vision, I coasted through the rest of the breathwork session, and everything became instantly clear.
P.S. If you want to try a breathwork session, go to SomaticJules.com and send Jules a message. I promise you’ll be happy you did.
What Is It That I Want?
I want a big company. Ever since I discovered Gary Vaynerchuk 14 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with his model. There’s a core agency and a series of sub-agencies in different niches. He uses the cash flow from his agencies to invest in and acquire other companies.
So I’ve always known I wanted to build another agency. This time, I have the freedom to build it exactly the way I want.
But what kind of agency? What do I really excel at?
Yes, I’m good at SEO. But I’m also good at creating content. I’m good at email funnels. I’m good at networking, sales, and building products. I’m really fucking good at what I do. So how do I translate that into something clear, compelling, and appealing to high-end clients?
I’ve been thinking about it for days.
Then, this morning, the answer just popped into my head.
It’s so simple. It’s so obvious. How have I been overcomplicating this for so long?
The core of what I do, and the reason people hire me, is because I generate leads.
All of my directories, brands, and companies have one thing in common. They generate leads. I am an expert lead generation professional. Whether it’s SEO, email, or LinkedIn, the foundation of all my work has always been lead generation.
Suddenly, I knew The Shop didn’t make sense as my centralized brand. I needed something bigger, something that truly defines what I do.
So this morning, I bought QuantumLeads.com. This will be my new company.
Quantum Leads: The Company I’ve Always Wanted
Lead generation is my favorite. I love it for a few reasons.
It’s always in demand. Businesses will always pay for quality leads. Honestly, I can’t think of anything with more staying power.
It’s profitable. I can (and do) sell leads for a lot of money. My most profitable companies are lead generation assets. Everyone thinks the path to millions is starting a podcast or growing on Instagram. That’s not true. My boring, anonymous lead generation brands account for more than half of my wealth.
It’s straightforward. What I love about lead generation is that there’s only one objective. You generate leads. Other businesses, like Copyblogger, have so many steps between content and revenue. There’s so much to measure. With lead gen, there’s just one metric. How many leads did you generate?
What excites me most is that I can build lead generation assets in so many different verticals. I’ve been buying valuable domains for over five years, and in the next few months, I will launch lead generation assets for:
Stem cells
Autism agencies
Behavioral health
Eating disorder treatment
Plant medicine retreats
Ketamine clinics
Cross-country moving companies
Solar panel installers
Contractors of all kinds
Epoxy flooring
Lawn care
Home cleaning
Home organization
Elderly care clinics
Testosterone clinics
I could go on forever.
If an industry needs leads, I will generate them.
I know this won’t happen all at once. But the universe is funny. When you make a decision, things start happening. After committing to Quantum Leads, I’ve already had traction from a few phone calls.
This is going to be huge.
My Main Structure Still Applies
I’ve always had a three-part vision for my business.
Agency = cash flow
Personal brand = awareness
Holdings company = ownership
My personal brand is thriving. My holdings company is coming together exactly as I planned. But for the last year, the one thing I couldn’t figure out was my agency.
What the hell am I going to build next?
That question has played in my mind thousands of times over the last ten months.
Thanks to my breathwork session, I realized I always knew the answer. The problem was, I wasn’t giving myself permission to go after it. Some little voice in my head kept telling me to play it safe. To play it small. Because certainty feels safer than excitement.
People do this to themselves all the time. What’s even funnier is that we know we’re underselling our potential. But almost every time, it takes a major event or life-changing experience to break free from those limiting beliefs.
I’m grateful my ancestors spoke to me now. I’m 38. I’m healthy. I’m fit. I have the resources. I have the vision. Now I have the belief.
Quantum Leads is my $100,000,000 company. Just watch.
I’m filled with gratitude and excitement. At the same time, I have the humility to get down in the dirt and start building.
So much more to come. 2025 is my transition year.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.
