How To Get Over The Fear Of Posting Content
It's scary, no doubt
One of the aspects of marketing is content creation.
Many people love the idea of publishing content as a way to build their business because it’s easy to conceptualize.
You put yourself out there, people follow you, you build an audience, and then you can sell products and services to that audience. Seems simple enough.
Yet hardly any of you have built up the courage to do it consistently over a period of time.
Today I’ll share with you the mental hacks I use to put myself out there.
LFG. 🔥
Remember That Nobody Cares About You
Everyone is spending so much time thinking about themselves that hardly anyone has time to think about you or what you’re doing.
You don’t post content because you’re worried about what other people think, but the truth is that everyone is spending most of their time thinking about themselves.
Even when someone follows you, they do it because they think you can help them. It’s still a selfish act. They follow you because they are thinking about themselves, not you.
So get over yourself. You’re not that important.
Remember That You’re Going To Die
Do you know who your great grandfather was?
If you do, do you know what he believed in, what he was passionate about, or what kind of books he liked to read?
If I ever feel stuck or start second guessing a decision, I remind myself that I am going to die.
I’m 39 years old. Statistically speaking, I’ve lived half of my life. Although I’m very hard to kill as evidenced by the numerous drug overdoses I miraculously woke up from, chances are I live to be 100.
Let’s say you post a piece of content and someone makes fun of you, or maybe an old high school bully leaves a condescending comment. Who cares?
What these people think about you is irrelevant to the outcome of your life. That moment is here and gone in seconds.
In another 100 years, hardly anyone will even know you existed.
Remember Rule Number 62
Rule 62 is an inside joke that exists inside Alcoholics Anonymous.
The rule says “don’t take yourself so seriously.”
Rule 62 is a maxim. The number 62 means nothing other than to serve as a placeholder to remind you not to take yourself so seriously.
I’ve seen this play out many times in my life.
For whatever reason, every time I start to take myself too seriously, life gets harder.
In the opposite respect, every time I’ve decided to let go, do what feels like the next right thing, and let the outcomes be what they will, everything has always worked out.
This blog is a perfect example. Every time I start to take it too seriously, it loses its personality and creative insight.
People appreciate the vulnerability more than the business advice. The flexibility that comes from not taking myself too seriously always generates more revenue anyway.
Keep Your Eye On The Prize
Why do you want to create content?
What is the purpose of writing newsletters, recording videos, or making podcasts?
For me, the purpose has always been to make money.
This isn’t a hobby. I’m not a creator. I have a journal to write about what lives deepest in my heart.
The content I share with the world is for the purpose of generating awareness around my ideas and my business.
So I ask myself what I want more. Do I want to build a business or not?
If I do, then creating content is a means to an end.
Do I care more about being judged or about making sales?
Or maybe the real question is whether you care more about building a business or about being judged by strangers on the internet.
The Only People Who Judge You Are People Who Aren’t Doing As Well As You
Do you think the people who are generating a lot of awareness and success from their content are judging you for the content you create?
Hint* They’re not.
Look at your own behavior. Are you judging other people for what they create online?
If you are, where do you compare to them in terms of the audience they’ve built compared to what you’ve built?
You only get pulled down by those who are below you. Those who are ahead of you will always pull you up.
So do yourself a favor and start pulling others up instead of tearing others down.
As a result, you’ll quickly notice that others start pulling you up as well.
In Conclusion
It’s just not that big of a deal.
Think about it. You’re making content and publishing it for free. If other people don’t like it, they don’t have to read it. What does it matter?
It’s just not that big of a deal.
So be afraid. Be nervous. Be afraid to be judged and be insecure.
But hit publish anyway, because the alternative is that you don’t and nothing happens, which is much worse.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.

I’ll Teach You How To Build A Seven Figure Business
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from my life as an entrepreneur, it’s this.
ENTREPRENUERSHIP IS NOT COMPLICATED.
Internet gurus love to talk about “frameworks, secrets, and insights.” The reality is that every business follows the same exact process in order to generate sales, build internal systems, and scale.
I have broken this process down into six steps, which I call The Machine Method.
If you’re serious about starting an online business, I will guide you on your quest to seven figures.
Welcome to the machine. 🤖

I am taking notes as I have thoughts of going online to have a business and this is what I am looking for. I have a funnel and another site but I have to make time to work it, make post, content for the what I believe in. Holistic approach to help others. Thanks, Bernie
Super timely post, getting back into creation mode this week on IG + Threads! Thanks Tim!
